Tre’r Ceiri…New Leaflets From Llŷn AONB

Some new leaflets about the Tre’r Ceiri hillfort have been published by the Llŷn Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The leaflets have lots of information about the hillfort’s history, archaeological finds, geology, wildlife and a route map.

Tre’r Ceiri is an iron-age hillfort and a Scheduled Monument, it is only a short walk away from Gors-lŵyd. It is regarded as one of the best preserved forts in Europe. There are the remains of around 150 stone huts within the fort and the surrounding rampart walls are still intact – with two main entrances into the fort itself.

The walk to Tre’r Ceiri has wonderful views of the Llŷn Peninsula as well as its coastline!

There are several copies of the leaflet in Gors-lŵyd Cottage and in the local shop in Llithfaen (Siop Pen y Groes).
