Open Water Swimming…!
Yes! Our latest guests have been open water swimming in Llyn Gwynant. After they asked about where they could enjoy wild swimming, I found that there are several locations where swimming is popular.
This beautiful lake is in Snowdonia National Park and is a 50 minute drive away from Gors-lwyd, easy parking and shallow entry to the lake – you can even swim across to Elephant Rock and jump into lake. The stunning drive to the lake is through Porthmadog, Beddgelert and through Snowdonia. Open swimming is also enjoyed in Bala Lake, Llyn Padarn (Snowdonia) or Llyn Cau (Cadair Idris Snowdonia). Of course there are many beaches to swim from – but be aware of the strength of the tides – they do vary from beach to beach.
